Triodia’s owner, Don Duggan, provides a unique service. He is an Aboriginal person wishing to pass on his decades of experience and skills in land management. He is widely respected across northern Australia as a mentor for other Aboriginal people with an ability to effectively engage young Aboriginal people in vegetation based work.

Experience

  • Management of Triodia since 2006
  • 14 years with Greening Australia’s Aboriginal Landcare Education Program in the Northern Territory – including being the Coordinator – developed a series of learning guides aimed at remote Aboriginal students working in conservation and land management (ALEP Learning Guides)
  • 20 years in landscaping, horticulture and vegetation management with Department of Defence at Darwin’s RAAF base
  • 2 years with Balkanu Cape York Development Corporation and Cairns TAFE delivering training on Cape York
